TheLanguageOfThe Genes - Steve Jones
Verdict: Nice try, but no cigar. Steve Jones describes a fascinating array of evolutionary and genetic phenomena - with sufficient detail to whet your appetite, but not to satisfy your interest. The number of diagrams, figures and tables (I counted a total of non at all) only serves to reduce the information content further. Most explainations are given in the form of analogies, but the mapping of these onto the real world is not made sufficiently clear. I'm not saying it's a bad book, but it would be hard to discuss the ideas contained within it, as there is such a lack of detail.
